I'll keel her.

I first heard the song "I'll Kill Her" awhile ago, back when Ken had it up in his sidebar (which is a treasure trove, check out "I'm the Queen of the World" over there). I liked the sentiment of the title alone (who couldn't?) but I can admit to having trouble getting into her style. (As the Butter Team says, "I knew immediately this girl must be an extremely hot moppy-headed French tomboy brat that loves horribly cheesy American 80s movies and kicks your ass in Mario Kart. This morning a quick image search confirms." You know. The sorta girl I'd hate. By the way, I really want that haircut. But my hair is apparently too light to do that to. . . blah.)

But I gave it another go, and now I can't stop listening to "I'll Kill Her." So here's the Not Sokute EP, 5 tracks, great stuff. The music is like candy, and though the songs all revolve around relationships (something I don't always like/appreciate), they range from killing him, killing her, and sparkly happy love. And it all works. So check it out, it may take a few listens to get into but once you make the adjustment, you may get hooked much as I was.

Hey b -
Soko IS a bit like a candy - you know that you'd probably be better off if you just had a nice piece of fruit, but candy just tastes so good! If you want to take the song to a more sinister level, think about this - what if the protagonist is a stalker and the poor guy doesn't even know who she is . . . not yet anyway . . .
I'm with Jim regarding "your young man," you should've cut him loose . . . and then gone to see Sweeney Todd . . .
thanks for the cupcakes, the peppermint sprinkles are my favorite!
Great job on the VD(hahaha) stuff - I LOVE Cinema Serenade . . . and just for the record, the violin is absolutely the most expressive, most versatile instrument, in spite of it being a tool of satan that causes the righteous to stumble . . .
Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad you enjoy digging through the junk I stick over in the sidebar - that stuff is mostly posts that have gone awry . . . and speaking of posts, I've just about finished up the last two for the Texas series - hopefully one or both will be posted sometime next week. . .

Hm, blogger wouldn't work for 24 hours for me, the bugger.

I don't think many would have held it against you if you'd pushed Dummy out onto the tracks anyway :D

I'm not in charge of any men in green and white shirts, and no matter how much I yell at them on the TV, they never seem to listen...

Say, you are a fellow Nick Cave lover, aren;t you? In case you've not got it yet, here's a link for the new, fab, album - http://rapidshare.com/files/94106576/dig.rar with my usual pass. I uploaded it, but don't know when I'll stop being lazy enough to post it.
